Chennai 600028 100 days


The 100 day celebration of Chennai-600028 was held on Sunday August 5th, Friendship Day. It was a wonderful coincidence that the film about friendship brought in its 100 days on the same day. The film made by three friends SPB Charan (Capital Film Works), JK Saravana (Tantra Films, Singapore)and director Venkat Prabhu is an absolute entertainer made with Gully Cricket as the backdrop.

The film’s 100th day celebration, held in Chennai yesterday, was graced by two friends, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Thier presence was a complete bouncer as their names did not figure in the invitations. S.P. Balasubramaniam, Chitra along with the Chennai 600028 gang performed on the occassion.


Small-budget 'Chennai 600028' steals the show


S.P.B. Charan, son of well-known singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, 'Chennai 600028' is the surprise hit of 2007. In a welcome sign, quite a few small films have made it to the top this year.

'Chennai 600028' - Director: Venkat Prabhu. This film with 'gulli' cricket as the backdrop is evoking nostalgia among youngsters who have grown up playing the game. The success of the small film reaffirms the fact that good and realistic cinema will ultimately succeed.
